Gagliano_12-034-EditBob Gagliano is a real estate consultant, appraiser, businessman and speaker. His firm, Gagliano & Company, is a full-service real estate valuation and consulting firm that provides a wide variety of real estate advisory services to public, private, corporate and institutional clients. Gagliano & Company specializes in litigation and complex, out-of-the-ordinary, and difficult assignments.

Bob was born and raised on the Shore in Monmouth County, New Jersey. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, New Jersey and Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee.

Bob began appraising after a less-than-stellar career in the insurance industry and after spending two days sequestered in the County Library with the latest edition of What Color is my Parachute?

Bob spent the first weeks of his budding career appraising homes, but his big break when an MAI-designated appraiser hired him to appraise commercial properties. The salary, a princely sum of $600 per week, represented a 100% increase in income at the time. Bob later obtained his Tax Assessor Certification and represented four municipalities on a part-time basis.

In 1997 Bob got the opportunity to work at Robert A. Stanger & Company, a national real estate investment banking firm. At Stanger Bob headed up the valuation department and was responsible for the appraisal of self-storage, apartment, industrial and office properties throughout the United States and Canada. Bob also helped value limited partnership interests and assisted in the development fairness opinions for a number of publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts.

In 2001 Bob started his own firm, just prior to September 11. Undeterred by events and the economic slowdown, Bob obtained his MAI designation in early 2002. He is now a Member of the invitation only Counselors of Real Estate.

Today, Bob is exploring new and creative ways to refer to himself in the third person.
